Victoria Namkung is getting ready and excited for the third season of Mad Men
I love Mad Men. I’ve watched the the show since day one and am counting down till the season three premiere on August 16. And I’m not alone. The show has received 16 Emmy nominations, is a hit with critics and countless friends have recreated themselves in ’60s style thanks to the Mad Men Yourself application on their website. I think many of us wish we could live in that era even if for a day or two.
Well, I’m a “late adopter” of this Mad Men series. I’m still on Season 1. But, just like Victoria (and many others). I’m quite intrigue with this series. Maybe it’s the suits, the hairstyles or the fifties environment. I’m sold. Mad Men, welcome to Pat’s “Series to Watch” list.

Well finally it’s a wrapped, the fifth season of Lost has ended after 17 thrill-riding episodes. I must say that it’s one of the best series of Lost to date. With the nature of time traveling problems which ignites my adrenaline to gruesomely wait episode after episode.
Oh well, the season finale episodes was quite a blast. Damon and Carlton sure knows how to end a season long story. My early excitements for this season has paid well. This season we got ourselves (we as in the fans) a great amount of answers to the some of the mysteries revolving around lost. A few worth mention: The Smoke Monster, the foot statue, the origins of the Dharma stations, the incident, and of course, Jacob.
I don’t want to show details of that, probably most of you haven’t seen it all (why are you still reading this, go watch season 5 now!
. But I can guarantee you that it is a great season indeed.
And, now what?
Now, we have to wait like 7-8 months to watch the last season of Lost. So another TV series is the answers to occupy myself and keep my sanity check so I won’t get insane waiting to find the answers from Lost.
While The Big Bang Theory, The Office US, and Smallville was off season, I have to pick a new right shows to fulfill my needs. True Blood (yeah I know, I’m coming in late to watch it) is okay, kinda like a true vampire stories with a twist (awh forget those sparkling vampire!).
And of course I still need to do a Battlestar Galactica marathon too, to the series finale that is (and yes, I’m a bit late for this too)
Gossip Girl? dear God forgive me for having try its first two episodes. It’s like Indonesia’s sinetron but with cuter and gorgeous cast. Erase…
Well, that’s the update alright. Excuse me while I finding myself ways to travel time to January 2010 to watch Lost.

The last time I followed the Smallville series was their seventh season. The storyline for that season is so bad that I decided to quit in half way. On that season, the storyline was so absurd and full with filler stories that’s not even patched up to the global plot.
So when season 8 showed up, I’m not really into it. Until one of my friend (A superman enthusiast of his own), convinced me that It’s not like season 7 at all. Everyone agreed that season 7 was one of their worse season yet. So, they change the writer, director, and all of the background crew completely on season 8. The result? Well, I’ve done a Smallville marathon this past weekend and I like what I saw.
This time, they stick to the plan. The stories and events building up to the canonical Superman stories that we know. Well, some part are twisted and bend a bit. Yet, the global plot is right there.
It’s half way through season 8 now, and I’m as excited as I can be for Smallville.

So, when the first two episodes of Lost season 5 aired this Wednesday, every one seems had “Lost” watching it. We’ll okay, probably it’s been too long since the last season aired. But I thought they gave away their special episode 0, which shows you recap of season 4?
If you’re following the Lost stories closely after all this year, I think you might not be Lost seeing the first two episodes. It was started right where season 4 left off. Okay, what we know is that the Island disappeared into thin air but six of them survives, hence the name Oceanic Six, the survivors of the Oceanic 815 flight. Yet actually, they are not the only survivors, they forced to leave the island since it’s disappearance.
Season 5 stories as I understand revolving on how the Oceanic Six struggles to get back to the island, and how the other survivors who still stranded, surviving the new threat on the island. There was a back and forth plot that occurred since the last season, and it will still happen throughout season 5. You will find old characters emerge again and gave meaning as the stories and mysteries unfold.
I’m excited after seeing the first two episodes. Lost never disappointed me, story wise. They consistently provides interesting plot every season.

Boxee is releasing a new update for their Mac version today that allows users to stream content from ABC. And the first show to be released first was (surprised-surprised), LOST. I’m still using my old ways of watching LOST season 5 though (can’t tell you the details here can I?)
